Common drug may slow accelerated aging of HIV:U of A study

[From Metro News, Feb 17, 2016] Everyday cholesterol-lowering drugs may be able to slow the accelerated aging of people with HIV, according to new research from the University of Alberta.

Thanks to antiretroviral therapy, an HIV diagnosis is no longer a death sentence. But people with HIV do have much higher levels of inflammation in their body, which leads to premature aging.
