BC-CfE's Clinical Education and Training Program

The Clinical Education and Training Program at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is designed to provide learning opportunities on the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of HIV/AIDS and related conditions through personalized learning programs. Training is offered to health care professionals, allied health professionals, community frontline workers and students throughout British Columbia, Canada, and abroad. Training is based on current scientific evidence and is subject to change. Training should not be relied on by any person as a substitute for specific medical advice from a qualified practitioner. Attendees are responsible for using their independent judgement and expertise in the context of individual clinical circumstances. The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is designed to provide learning opportunities on the diagnosis, treatment, management and care of HIV/AIDS and related conditions through personalized learning programs. Training is offered to health care professionals, allied health professionals, community frontline workers and students throughout British Columbia, Canada, and abroad.

Dr. Montessori certified as a specialist in Internal Medicine at UBC and then continued her training as an Infectious Diseases Fellow with a subsequent Research Fellowship with the Canadian HIV Trials Network.

The Treatment Optimization of Psychosis Collaborative (TOP) and the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE) has developed this online course for health care professionals in the province of BC to support their continuing medical education needs. This course guides learners in the assessment and management of schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders and treatment options, including clozapine. The course offers information applicable to clinical practice and quality patient care.
